Let’s make shrines together!

makeashrine is the dedicated discussion site for the Ghost of You Shrine Challenge, a site-making event that runs from October 2025 to January 2026. Open exclusively to registered participants for the duration of the event, this Dreamwidth community aims to provide a space for interaction with like-minded site makers so as to promote activity in this sphere of the web and the birth of new shrines. The entirety of its content can be read by anyone and will remain accessible after event conclusion.

Posting Guidelines

• Treat others with respect. Use appropriate language and be mindful that this space is open to people of all ages.
• When offering advice or critique, keep it constructive.
• Do not link to illegal or hateful content. Do not promote plagiarism or plagiarized content.
• Flag content with spoiler warnings, NSFW warnings etc. where necessary.
• You can make a new, separate post for topics that invite longer discussions or may prove valuable for anyone faced with similar questions in the future. Tag them accordingly (#discussion, #help, #resource).
• You can plug a finished shrine by making a new post and tagging it with #plug and #event: ghost of you. If you do not want any constructive feedback, say so. It’s up to you if you’d rather plug it in a comment or not at all. Plugs that do not comply with the event guidelines may be removed (e.g. plagiarized content or design, fanart usage without credits and permission, pages/sites that are not shrines in the sense of individual fansites).

A request: Let’s talk with each other rather than at each other. Let’s make conversation, try to get to know our fellow site makers and show interest in their projects, whether or not we are acquainted with the subject matter.

Ready to mingle? Join the community and reply to this post with the name you used to sign up for the event so you can be approved. Membership requests without prior event sign-up will be ignored.
